This is a beginners course covering basic techniques in cake decorating. The course focusses on the use of Sugarpaste and Royal Icing to cover a cake to a high standard and introduces popular techniques. This course in combination with later modelling and sugar flower courses, gives learners the skills to produce impressive themed cakes according to their personal design. Please note this is a not a baking course, decoration will take place on dummy cakes. Topics covered may include:- Covering cakes with Sugarpaste - including advice on cake types and appropriate coverings Using Royal Icing for piping, lettering, scrolls and pearls Creating texture, swags, embossing etc. Brush embroidery designs and hand painting Applique designs.
