What will I do on this study programme? This study programme will develop your personal and teamwork skills. It will also encourage analytical, creative, problem-solving and interpersonal skills. The topics you will study include the music industry (understanding the music business, how to survive and make money), performance (and rehearsing), using professional music software, song writing (song and lyric writing), live music production (including live sound engineering, stage craft, lighting and video filming). You will visit professional recording studios and venues. In addition you will also develop your literacy and numeracy skills and build your creative thinking abilities to enable you to take your studies further. How will I be assessed? We will assess a range of assignments, investigations and practical assessments during the study programme. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Music, Diploma, Level 3 Music Practice, Extended Diploma, Level 3 Music Technology, Extended Diploma, Level 3 Media Production, Extended Diploma, Level 3. Job/career opportunities Careers in video production and broadcasting, music, performance and production A wide range of jobs in the music industry, such as performer or session musician.
