What will I do on this study programme? The Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology course offers a professional range of skills and knowledge focussing on producing highly proficient, occupationally competent, professional nail technicians that can perform a wide variety of technical services and are job ready. The course includes developing a range of general techniques around artificial nail enhancement and other units develop understanding and competence to perform related salon services essential for any nail salon business, whether self- employed or working for another. This study programme will be an exciting route into the nail technology service industry. You will develop your practical skills through the study of the following units Health and safety practice Client care and communication Maintaining personal health & well being Manicure treatments Pedicure treatments Apply and maintain nail extensions (gel and acrylic) Design and apply nail art Enhance nails using electric files Display stock to promote sales Promote products and services. You will further develop your knowledge and apply the skills you have learned through working in a real life commercial salon and attending work placements throughout the year where you will develop your employability skills. In addition, tutorial support, personal and social development, and Maths and English development are fundamental elements of this study programme and will be embedded into your vocational learning. If you do not have a grade C in Maths and/or English you will attend a discrete GCSE or Functional skills class as part of your weekly timetable. How will I be assessed? We will assess you throughout the year with online tests, practical work, assignments and projects. You will also have an online gradebook that you will keep up-to-date and you will manage targets that have been set throughout the year for you by your tutor. What options
