Take a step towards a successful career in Hospitality with this Level 2 Diploma (NVQ) in Food and Beverage Service at Weston College. Taught at our state-of-the-art education campus in Weston-super-Mare, just south of Bristol, this Food and Beverage course is the perfect pathway if you are considering a career in restaurants or hotels. You will study alongside like-minded fellow students from throughout the Bristol and North Somerset area and benefit from our outstanding quality and teaching by well qualified education professionals, all of whom have significant industry experience. This Level 2 qualification provides knowledge and understanding of work within the Hospitality Industry that can either support progression to professional training or enhance the development of workers currently working within hospitality establishments. Areas of training include, but not limited to Work effectively as part of a hospitality team Maintain food safety when storing, holding and serving food Serve food at the table Provide a silver service Serve alcoholic and soft drinks Prepare and serve wines Prepare and serve hot drinks using specialist equipment. Our Food and Beverage course is taught over a minimum of 180 hours. The course is made up of eight modules designed to give students the educated understanding required to work in industry. The course is assessed through assignment work and practical assessments and students will be working out of our commercial restaurant. You will need to complete between 20 and 30 hours as independent study. There will be an opportunity to further develop your English speaking and listening skills as part of this course.
