What will I do on this course? This is a popular option if you have an interest in business or believe that the career you may follow will require some degree of business knowledge. The course will enable you to study different types of businesses and the internal and external factors they face in operating on a local, national and international scale. You will gain a good understanding of national and international markets, the economic climate, the effects of government policy and basic financial accounting concepts. Business Studies is a real life subject in an ever changing world and therefore an interest in relevant business news stories is essential. Year 1 units include; , What is business? , Managers, leadership and decision-making , Decision-making to improve marketing performance , Decision-making to improve operational performance , Decision-making to improve financial performance , Decision-making to improve human resource performance Year 2 units include; , Analysing the strategic position of a business , Choosing strategic direction , Strategic methods how to pursue strategies , Managing strategic change How will I be assessed?
