The study programme will identify and develop talented 16-19 year olds who aspire to develop opportunities in rugby union while representing Coventry Rugby Academy. Henley College Coventry is working in partnership with Coventry Rugby club. Contents include: Sports development Anatomy and physiology Physiology of fitness Fitness training and programming Assessing risk in sport Sports development Fitness testing for sport and exercise Practical team sport Sports coaching Analysis of sports performance Leadership in sport Sports psychology and nutrition Work experience English and Maths functional skills qualifications. Additional qualifications IRB Rugby Ready and scrum factory qualification. The study programme incorporates weekly training sessions which includes strength and conditioning training, game analysis, fitness testing and weekly fixtures in the AoC Sports Premier League, including cup and 7s competitions. The study programme is based at Henley College Coventry and Coventry Rugby Club. As part of their study programme learners will get the opportunity to develop their work experience and employability skills working with the Coventry Rugby Community department on their rugby union coaching camps throughout the academic year.
