Extended Diploma in Games Development Level 3

The Games Industry in this country currently contributes £1 billion to the economy. Over the next five years investment in British games companies will create 3,500 additional jobs. This course is for learners who want to be a part of this industry and do more than just play games,and want to take the challenge to produce their own. During the course learners will study the production process and develop the skills required to create highly professional games. They will use industry standard software at every step to design, develop and test their own creations. 3D computer modelling 3D computer animation 3D environments Computer game engines Computer games design Computer games platforms and technologies Drawing from observation Drawing concept art for computer games Computer game story development Learners will create their own games by developing knowledge and understanding of games design in multiple aspects focusing on 3D modelling, 3D animation, concept art and scripting. They will be using professional software such as Unity3D, UDK, 3D Studio Max and Photoshop just to name a few. There is a strong emphasis on professional development and learners will leave the course with an extensive on-line portfolio of work as well as experience in working as a team on indie aimed projects for the Ouya and Android platforms. Educational trips will be arranged and may include art and games exhibitions and visits to games companies such as Codemasters.
