The content of the new BTEC qualification has been developed in collaboration with employers, representatives from higher education and professional bodies to ensure that it is up to date. The four units (three mandatory and one optional) require students to have advanced performance skills and previous composing experience using music technology. Students who do not have instrumental skills or an ability to read music will find aspects of the course more challenging.
