UPDATED 20160909 06:30:54

The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Foundation Certificate in Accounting is an ideal starting point for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accountancy or finance, covering a range of foundation accounting and finance skills in five mandatory units. This unit will help students to develop the professional skills and behaviours needed in the workplace. Students will identify activities which develop current skills and knowledge, and those that will help them achieve future career aspirations. The assessment for this unit will include elements of learning from other Level 2 units and should therefore not be attempted until the other units have been completed. This course of study is delivered via distance learning. Included in the cost of the course are text and revision books, specialist online resources, one exam sitting, telephone and email support as well as limited one to one tutor support. This module will be assessed by way of a computer based synoptic assessment taken in college which will cover material across the whole course. The finance, accountancy, business and communications skills developed in the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting can lead to employment as: Accounts Administrator, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable Clerk, Purchase/Sales Ledger Clerk, Trainee Accounting Technician or Trainee Finance Assistant. The accountancy and finance knowledge developed in this qualification is also the underpinning knowledge needed for the higher-level accountancy and financial skills developed in the AAT Advanced and Professional Accounting Qualifications.
