4 days training in total - 3 day theory & practical training + multiple choice assessment & 1 day practical assessment. Practical work consists of brazing a test joint, pressure testing, direct and indirect leak testing, system evacuation, refrigerant charging, system commissioning and refrigerant recovery and completion of system log book. City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants EC 842/2006 (F-Gas) Categories I. Theory assessment - multiple choice online exam. Practical assessment - observation and oral questioning. Recognised City & Guilds qualification enabling them to work legally on refrigeration systems under the EC 842/2006 F-Gas regulations.Mixture of theory in classroom and practical training in workshop.This is a mandatory qualification for technicians working with, or handling, refrigerants in the RAC industry.
