This course will enable you to progress towards a career in stage management, stage design, lighting, sound and all areas of backstage work. On this course you will learn how to perform stage management roles in a variety of public performances in college, the community and professional venues. You will be involved in the lighting, sound design, set construction and wardrobe of shows, as well as taking a full role in all the backstage work that happens on the night of the performances. You will achieve a BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Production Arts after two years of study which is equivalent to 1 A level.You will also be given the opportunity to take part in Master Classes and visit theatres and Drama schools to see back stage and watch productions. For those interested in a career in Production Arts we will offer support and training in preparation for auditions and interviews and help you get where you want to go.
