This Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy is designed to give you the appropriate experience to enable you to pursue a career as a beauty therapist. There is an increasing need in the rapidly expanding business of beauty therapy for therapists who can exhibit a high degree of professionalism. This Level 2 qualification will give you a range of skills that will enable you to gain employment in salons, hotels, cruise liners, theatre, television and health and leisure centres. You will develop competence and confidence in ; facial skincare treatments, make-up, manicure, pedicure, waxing, anatomy and physiology, customer care, eye treatments, salon reception and product promotion. Your programme will also include English and Maths which will help you with your course work and prepare you for working life. You will get the chance to visit the professional beauty exhibition in London, enter national competitions, attend specialist workshops and demonstrate your skills in the college annual Hair and Beauty Showcase. Opportunities to shine will include encouragement to take part in internal and external skills events. The programme will enable you to apply to progress to Beauty Therapy Level 3, your next step into working in the beauty industry or those who seek employment in the theatre or television the Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special effects and Hair and Media Make-up route would be more suitable.
