Mathematics (Statistics) A Level

UPDATED 20160907 08:43:30

In the first year of a Maths A-level you will study 3 modules. Core units 1 and 2 cover pure maths / algebra, including topics on functions, sequences, graphs, trigonometry and an introduction to calculus. The third module is the applied unit, and you have a choice of statistics or mechanics. Most students will wish to apply for the Maths (Statistics) option, in which you will study probability, statistical distributions, regression analysis and discrete random variables. These topics link with many other subjects in the sciences, social sciences and humanities. Alternatively, if you are taking Physics A-level, then you may wish to choose the Maths (Mechanics) course.
