Photography for Beginners(Funded by Staffs County Council)

Anyone with an interest in photography and their own camera wishing to improve their understanding and photographic technique. No prior experience or photographic knowledge is required. You will learn about the camera controls which will allow you to use the camera in the manual mode rather than automatic. This will allow you to have full control of the camera and will allow you to get creative with your images. You will learn how the aperture affects the image and how the shutter speed affects movement within the image. You will learn about photographic composition and how these techniques can be used to improve your photography. You will learn about using natural light and how this affects your images. You will be given homework which will allow you to practice the techniques taught in your own time. There will be group critiques and discussions about the photographs taken.
