This is a good course for you if you want to gain a more technical and in-depth knowledge of agriculture. This course will also suit you if you have worked in the agriculture industry for a number of years and wish to gain a recognised qualification. There are four main level 3 study routes available to students 60 credit Subsidiary Diploma (6 units in one academic year) 120 credit Diploma (12 units spread over two academic years) 90 credit Diploma (9 units in one academic year) 180 credit Extended Diploma (18 units spread over two years) You will study practical and theory related subjects Selection of units are below Principles of plant and soil science Livestock Production Understand and carry out farm livestock husbandry Sheep Production Understanding Livestock breeding and nutrition Beef Production Investigational Project Estate Skills Understand Grassland Management Work Related Experience Dairy Production Machinery Pig Production Business Management Understand and Promote Animal Health Crop Production Pollution and waste control management Manage Agricultural Environments English and maths are integral to gaining employment and are included on every study programme to support your development and progression in these important skills. With this in mind you will need to attend Functional skills English/maths or GCSE in English/maths depending on your previous attainment. This will be discussed at interview and confirmed when you enrol.
