The qualification is for experienced staff who have supervisory responsibilities or who work unsupervised in a setting whose main purpose is to provide children and young people (4-16yrs) with opportunities for freely chosen, self-directed play. This qualification can be taken as an Apprenticeship or NVQ only. An Apprenticeship will cover additional elements such as functional skills and a technical certificate in Playwork plus a First Aid Certificate in Paediatrics

Learning will take place during visits to your workplace by an Ingeus Training Advisor. Throughout your learning you will build up an portfolio (online where appropriate) in support of your qualification. During your Training Advisor's visits to your workplace you will be observed carrying out your day to day tasks. Your duties and responsibilities will also be discussed and you will be given full guidance and support to enable you to complete the qualification. Visits also provide an opportunity to feedback details of your progress to your employer. Your portfolio will be reviewed and assessed on an ongoing basis.
