During this flexible course you will be offered two routes to complete the level 1 ECDL qualification: ECDL essentials - is a fixed version of the qualification and includes the following three units, IT User Fundamentals - using the computer to organise and store documents effectively. Using Email and Using the Internet - you will be able to find information and send e-mails efficiently IT Security - using a computer nowadays raises a range of security issues, this unit will provide relevant information and guidance on how to overcome and protect against these. ECDL flexible award - offers a flexible approach to the course which can be tailored to your own individual needs. A total of 9 credits is needed from the following units. You tutor will work with you during your induction session to help select the best units for you: IT User Fundamentals - using the computer to organise and store documents effectively Using Email and Using the Internet - you will be able to find information and send e-mails efficiently IT Security - using a computer nowadays raises a range of security issues, this unit will provide relevant information and guidance on how to overcome and protect against these.
