Language Of Maths (ASPIRE)

This course is designed for adult learners who wish to improve their understanding of the language of Maths and budgeting whilst learning new skills in IT. The course helps learners identify personal targets and how to work towards meeting these targets in a structured learning programme. Learners will identify how to translate household bills/ search for the best bargains in utilities and groceries and the best interest rates for their savings. Learners will explore apps and online websites that help people search for the best deals/ compare prices on everything from home insurance to broadband. There will be opportunities for group working/ surveying and presenting information in tables and charts within software such as MS Excel. By the end of the course learners will have gained skills in working out the best rates/ tariffs/ smarter shopping/ eating on a budget/ IT software (Publisher/ PowerPoint/ Excel).
