Sewing skills - complete beginners

On this course you will learn how to use a sewing machine- from correct threading & tension adjustment to producing a range of stitches & the use of different machine feet. You will make a range of reference samples, including hems, zip insertion & buttonholes to enable you to apply your new skills to your sewing projects. You will complete the course by making a simple craft item such as a needlecase or scissor holder.

Entry requirements

You will need to bring a Basic Sewing Kit to include dressmaking pins, needles, tape measure, fabric cutting out scissors, threads ( if you are buying these items from scratch they will cost approximately £25-30). You will also need a small quantity of fabric and trimmings to make the craft item of your choice- and your tutor will advise you on this. Please do not purchase anything until you know that the course will definitely run.
