This course integrates the fat-burning format of interval training, the muscle shaping technique of isometrics, the elongating principles of dance conditioning, and the principles of alignment of Pilates to create a workout that quickly and safely reshapes your entire body.Used extensively in ballet as warm up exercises, barre work is an excellent workout for everyone. You don't have to be a ballet dancer to do barre work! It's an effective way to improve your flexibility and strength, and is a fun and alternative type of class. The new combined workout brings together the toning benefits of Pilates with the fitness benefits of Ballet. So it helps strengthen large and small muscle groups, while also giving cardio, lengthening and circulation benefits. What does it do? As an alignment-based workout, Pilates-Barre is ideal for back and posture. Holding the barre means we can improve our stance. The moves enable us to work legs whilst holding the core stable. This is key to toning abdominal and back muscles for a leaner, taller posture. It's also safe, and can help prevent or improve further injuries. The teacher will help focus on the body positioning, while the moves will give better body awareness and co-ordination. Stiffness is countered by uplifting music, along with graceful exercises and routines.
