This course is ideal for anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of yoga. It will complement any self practice and yoga classes that you are already attending. You will gain an understanding of the fundamental ideas on which Yoga practice is based. This course will introduce you to Patanjali, the 'father of Yoga' and the most significant exposition of early Yoga teachings, Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, which are still widely regarded as the foundational work on Yoga philosophy. You will learn how 2000 year old history connects with the myth around Patanjali and you will discover how ancient yoga principles still matter in our lives today, for example the theme of non-violence and vegetarianism. This workshop will focus on theory and practice and you will also enjoy some gentle practical Yoga.
