Yoga - journey towards headstand

See the world upside down. Increase your confidence and learn techniques to prepare for and practise inversions. By the end of the workshop you can expect to feel confident enough to practise handstands on your own. Doing a headstand can make you feel exhilarated and you get the sense of having accomplished something special. You will overcome any fear of upside-down yoga poses and you will learn how to approach them safely. You will gain trust in yourself when working towards the headstand by learning and practising a variety of preparations using warm up moves, especially adapted yoga poses and diverse equipment. You will discover exercises to help strengthen the supporting muscles and improve flexibility. Everybody will be able to experience the headstand without feeling any pressure on the head using different tools and you will be able to choose which equipment will be best for you. To help you get a better understanding of you body being upside down, you will also gain some knowledge about anatomy and physiology relevant to the topic. You will be able to assess potential risks to your body considering your personal body condition and how to prevent any potential injuries by practising safely. Everybody will be able to enjoy the physical and mental benefits of practising inverted poses. This workshop is also suitable for more experienced learners as they will have the opportunity to learn and practise some interesting variations.
