You will attend practical and theory based sessions aimed at building your understanding of the industry. You will cover the following topics: - Introduction to Construction Work - Introduction to Health and Safety - Handling and Storing Materials and Components - Personal Work Skills - Introduction to Self-Employment - Carrying out Brickwork Operations - Carrying out Woodwork Operations - Carrying out Painting and Decorating Operations There is an emphasis on gaining practical skills, but the qualification also promotes the development of wider employment skills, emphasising the importance of customer servie and appropriate conduct within a work area. If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).
