Upholstery and Furniture Restoration All Abilities How will this course help me? Develop skills in upholstery and furniture restoration. Who is the course for? This course is for anyone who is interested in restoring furniture and upholstery. What can I expect to Learn? Sessions are practical and learners will develop knowledge of what tools and materials to use The tutor will teach you different techniques You will work on your own projects with advice from your tutor Learners will approach all aspects of work with appropriate Health and Safety guidelines in mind. How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Your tutor will advise you on each individual projects. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.? There will be costs for materials used which vary according to each project undertaken. What can I do next Learners may progress onto the City & Guilds Certificate in Design and Craft (Upholstery).
