Introduction to Bee Keeping How will this course help me? An introduction to the practice of bee-keeping for beginners and would be bee keepers. Who is the course for? Beginners What can I expect to Learn? . Hive construction and siting Managing bees Where to get bees and equipment The importance of bees in the environment The terminology Life cycle of the bee How to identify the different members of the hive The bee calendar Bee diseases How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. Your tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? A note book and pen. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.? You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee.
