English for Adults How will this course help me? This course will help you to improve your reading, writing, spelling and speaking and listening skills. Who is the course for? This course is for anyone who would like to improve their reading, writing, spelling or speaking and listening skills. What can I expect to Learn? Spelling – words that you need to use Reading – from books, newspapers, magazines Writing – form filling, letters, notes Speaking and listening – expressing yourself in the right way and being able to understand what is being said to you. All learners work towards a qualification. How will I learn? The course is classroom based and will be a mix of taught sessions, small and whole group work. There will also be individual work. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. If you think that you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the centre staff. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. Your tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Bring along a pen or pencil and paper. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.) The course and any exam taken is FREE. What can I do next? You may want to come on some of our other courses such as English Improvers. Discuss your next steps with your tutor or the Centre staff.
