Digital Imaging (mixed ability) using Photoshop Who is the course for? This course is suitable for the absolute beginner offering individual attention for learners who have little or no knowledge in using software to manipulate images taken by a digital camera. Basic computer knowledge is necessary to enable the learner to make the most of this course. This is a non-vocational course and some flexibility to the content is possible with negotiation with the tutor. What can I expect to learn? Topics will include: Guidance given on the basics use of digital cameras Downloading/saving images from cameras to computer Consolidation of basic editing techniques Image size and resolution adjustment Image enhancement through colour adjustment Applying improved special effects Preparing images for output to printers/e-mail/other software packages How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Bring along a pen and notepad – should you wish to make any notes. Bring your own camera fully charged. Will there be any other costs? (e.g. materials, books, registration with a professional body, etc.) You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee.
