Art – Painting and Drawing How will this course help me? You will develop practical skills in drawing and painting in a friendly, social environment in which to learn and gain confidence. Who is the course for? This course is for beginners or if you have some experience. You will be given the support you require for your individual development. What can I expect to Learn? Develop your drawing and painting skills Different elements of drawing and painting e.g. tone, line, colour, texture, proportion, etc. Landscape themes Still life Work of well-known artists to learn new techniques Health and safety How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. What will I need to provide? Bring any art materials you may already have. Basic course materials are available at the centre for the first session if required. Your tutor will advise on any future purchases related to the course. Will there be any other costs? You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. Your tutor will advise you of any additional materials you may wish to purchase. What can I do next? A variety of Get Creative courses are available.
