This course enables you to build upon the range of skills and knowledge gained at NVQ Level 1 to develop your career within the engineering industry. PEO 2Compulsory Units: -Working safely in an engineering environment -Developing yourself and working with other people on engineering activities -Using and communicating technical information Optional Units - three units from a choice: -Producing components using hand tools and fitting techniques -Preparing and using lathes for turning -Preparing and using milling machines -Producing sheet metal components -Preparing and using manual metal arc welding equipment -Preparing and using Tungsten inert gas welding equipment VRQ 2 Compulsory Units -Engineering environment awareness -Engineering techniques -Engineering principles Optional Units - three units from a choice: -Manual welding techniques -Producing components from sheet metal -Turning techniques -Milling techniques -Fitting and assembly techniques A portfolio of work will be compiled which will be assessed and verified as the course progresses.
