Hatmaking - make your own bridal headpiece

On this course you will learn how to transform, block and create a beautifully finished bridal headpiece using fabrics and trimmings of your choice. You can experiment with upcycling fabric used for your wedding dress to make your headpiece base & decorative trimmings such as veiling, fabric corsages and other embellishments to personalise your design.

Entry requirements

To cover your headpiece, you will need a piece of fabric of your choice, plus lining fabric, a minimum of 50cm square- e.g. natural fabrics with some drape will be ideal such as velvet, brocade, silk crepe de chine or satin, or even a recycled silk scarf, plus any additional trimmings you may choose to use on your design. You will need to bring this to the 2nd session, so may wish to discuss your choices with the tutor in the first week. Please do not purchase anything until it has been confirmed that the course is running. The course fee includes a basic materials charge of £8 for other construction materials and sundries.
