Beauty Therapy L2 Diploma (QCF)

You will complete the course over one academic year, two evenings a week. Much of this time will be spent developing your practical skills in our dedicated Beauty Salon. You will also learn the essential underpinning knowledge of the human body systems. The units will include: Facial skincare Manicure and Pedicure treatments Eye treatments Waxing techniques Makeup application and instruction Reception duties You will be required to undertake salon duties to support reception, health, safety and security throughout your course. You will also be invited to compete in the department end of year show.

The information gathered will build into your own portfolio of evidence. You will work closely with your tutor who will regularly check and discuss your progress. Entry requirements

Some basic equipment and materials will be provided by the college. You will be encouraged to purchase the Distinction salon uniform (cost approximately £65), a tools and equipment kit (costing around £200) to use during your study programme. Applications may be made to the student support fund to help with the purchase of these items. In some circumstances loan equipment may be available. You may wish to bring a hand held device to record your own treatments. Please provide paper, plastic pockets, dividers, pen and pencils, and an A4 folder.
