History: The Achievements of the Victorian Age

In homage to the late Asa Briggs the course will focus on some of those Victorians who significantly contributed to changing the country . Some examples are Angela Burdett-Coutts , Edwin Chadwick , Cecil Rhodes , William Gladstone , Lord Northcliffe , Richard Cobden , Keir Hardie and George Hudson . There is room for students to suggest candidates of their own and to modify this list . The aim is to allow one session for each individual .
