History: The British Empire - Accident or Design?

This course is intended to encourage exploration, reflection and discussion of the British Empire from the Georgian period to recent times. To examine how a rainy island on the edge of Europe was able to create the biggest empire the world had ever seen, and to examine the motives of those involved.
