Literature: Top Ten Classic Comedy Dramas

The course will explore different types of comedy writing in the theatre, from the very beginnings, as practiced by the Ancient Greeks, to comedy in the modern age. We will look at comedy drama through the ages, including the 'golden periods' of Restoration and Comedy of Manners and the contemporary taste for absurd and black comedies.
