This course is of great interest and relevance to anyone who is interested in the media: web, television, radio, magazines and newspapers as well as new channels like Twitter. The media is all around us and permeates modern life; this specification allows you to draw on your existing experience of the media and develops your ability to respond critically to it. A wide variety of media is included, including digital technologies like cameras, computer video and sound editing software. It also draws on fundamental concepts that inform the study of media, namely texts, industry and audiences. You are encouraged to work creatively by producing your own media texts and a wide range of opportunities are provided.
