There has never been a better time to study as an engineer - if you look at the world you live in, you will see the positive effects that engineering solutions have provided in your day to day life. Engineers make a difference, putting into practice ideas that have been developed by scientists in many sectors. The engineering sector continues to suffer from a skills-gap and needs to keep up with rapidly developing technologies, in the UK it is estimated that we need 86,000 new graduate engineers in the next ten years. This Cambridge Technical qualification in Engineering has been designed to give new entrants to the engineering sector the underpinning knowledge and specific skills needed to meet the needs of modern engineering industries. The Cambridge Technical Level 3 Extended Certificate in Engineering consists of six units which are studied over two years. Four of the units are examined and two are internally assessed projects. Mandatory units include maths, science, electronics and mechanical engineering. In addition to these examined units there will be two optional units which are portfolio based and internally assessed.
