This is an integrated course that looks at Person Centred, Psychoanalytical and Cognitive Behavioural approaches to counselling. It focuses on the skills of active listening and responding and is therefore ideal for use wherever there is a need to communicate with people, with colleagues in the work place, with customers, with students and with family and friends. Past students have commented that it is very different to any other course, that it is emotionally demanding and that it has changed the way they look at themselves and others. The course is run over 90 hours, including some Saturdays. A portfolio of work is submitted which includes weekly homework sheets, a weekly Journal, and tutor’s observations of listening skills. Your work will be verified by both an internal and an external verifier. In order to qualify for the award there must be 80% attendance.
