Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy

This is a one year full time course for those who enjoy being creative and artistic, working with their hands, and have an interest in a career a Beauty Therapist. The Level 3 Diploma builds on the knowledge and skills developed on the Level 2 Diploma and works towards producing highly professional and skilled beauty therapists. The course is based on the National Occupational Standards for Beauty Therapy and will ensure that you are 'job ready' once you have qualified. The course will provide you with the practical skills needed for a career as Beauty Therapist through hands-on interactive classes in the college's professional beauty salons. The Level 3 is particularly useful if you plan on progressing your career onto the level of Salon Manager or Salon Owner and want your skills to be at the highest ability. Students will develop skills in units such as; Aromatherapy Massage, Stone Therapy Treatments, Body Electrical Treatments and Indian Head Massage. You will have the opportunity to work in the college beauty salon with real clients to practice the latest styles, trends and techniques. Students are also involved in charity fundraising throughout the year, such as offering nail art for Children in Need and community projects such as providing beauty packages for young carers in the local area. Specialist industry professionals regularly come into college to talk to students about different careers and give advice to those wanting to follow a similar career path. Students recently benefitted from an interactive talk from a Movie Make-Up and Special Effects Specialist who has worked on films all over the world with actors such as Brad Pitt. Maths and English will be at the core of your study programme.
