You will be introduced to all the basic hand building techniques and will be able to use the workshops to build and glaze work with personal tuition Subjects that will be covered include: Pinching Coiling Slab building Decoration techniques such as Imprinting, Slip Trailing and Sprig Molds, Carving, Applique (attaching to the surface of the clay) and Sgraffito (scratching into layers of slip). Glazing techniques such as Slip and Stoneware. There will also be 2 potters’ wheels available for the more adventurous, and there are also moulds that learners can use for slumping and press moulding.
