PRODUCT DESIGN WITH COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN & MANUFACTURE

UPDATED 20160817 07:27:36

Woodwork and metalwork conjure up very stereotypical images of what it was like to study in a school’s technology department years ago. However, things have changed and modern day Product Design is a subject which uses the latest technology to design and manufacture high quality products. This course will introduce you to modern day product design, incorporating computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacture (CAM). You will learn how to operate key pieces of software and hardware in order that you can use them to design and manufacture a range of products – a laser cut/engraved drinks coaster, CNC routered house sign and vinyl cut stickers/signage. Learners will need to be very competent in the use of a keyboard and mouse. Materials will be supplied by the tutor at a cost of £10-15.
