Summary: This qualification covers the technical needs for today's motorsport repair industry, including diagnosis of non complex faults. Course description: Level 2 Extended Diploma in Motorsport Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is aimed at young people (16-18) who are planning a career as an Automotive Technician within the Motorsport industry. Course requirements are 3 GCSEs at grade C or above in English, Maths and Science and an interest in Motorsport. Practical skills and knowledge are an advantage but not a requirement. The course will provide you with a broad breadth of learning within three applied units, where the criteria is contextualised for the retail motor industry. The applied units include the following: - Vehicle Science - Vehicle Maths - Electric and electronics The course also includes elements of health and safety, general housekeeping and industry standard repair techniques covering all aspects of the modern motorsport vehicle. Also covered will be maths and science related to motor vehicles as well as electric and electronic units. Your time will be divided into 60% classroom delivery and 40% practical activities. Objective: This diploma in Motorsport Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is aimed at young people who are planning a career as an automotive technician within the motorsport industry. Assessment: To succesfully complete this course you will need to complete a number of practical assessments and online knowledge assessments.
