This course is aimed at those working as Fitness Instructors with few or no relevant qualifications, employed adults wishing to change career, exercise and fitness enthusiasts who wish to become fitness instructors, and unemployed adults wishing to gain a vocational qualification. The course develops the student's skills, knowledge and competence to plan, teach and evaluate exercise sessions to adults unsupervised. Theoretical Element (Exercise and Fitness knowledge) includes: Anatomy; Physiology; Kinesiology; Components of Fitness; Health and Lifestyle Screening; Informed Consent; Session Structure and the Principles of Exercise Progression and Adaptation Practical Element includes: Planning, teaching and evaluating all components of safe and effective exercise sessions.
Name: Exercise to Music (Level 2) Qualification title: Certificate in Fitness Instructing (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Theoretical Element: Exercise and Fitness Knowledge. This element will be delivered via distance learning; therefore the students will be responsible for their own independent study and a written examination will take place one week prior to the commencement of the practical element. Practical Element: Assessment is continuous, including observations, written plans, evaluations, oral questioning/worksheets.
