A digital SLR with a wide-angle zoom (e.g. 18mm to 55mm). A very high quality compact or 'bridge' camera that allows full manual operation may be suitable but please check in advance. A tripod is also recommended. For some assignments you will be required to connect your camera to professional studio flash equipment. Therefore please check if your camera has a flash synchronization socket. If it doesn't (and many don't) then a hot shoe adaptor (£5+), or an infra-red flash trigger (£20+) should be considered (please check your camera manual for compatibility). Portable data storage is required such as a portable hard-drive (Mac compatible). A USB flash drive will also be very useful.
