This is a practical, work-related course and you will study in a realistic laboratory work environment. The course prepares you for progression onto further science- based qualifications. It also provides a pathway for those wanting to further develop their skills and knowledge within the health and science professions. Depending upon the chosen pathway, you will study from the following units: Applications of Chemical Substances; Applications of Physical Science; Practical Scientific Project; The Living Body; Science in Medicine; Biology and Our Environment; Investigating a Crime Scene; Investigating Human Behaviour; During the course you will be expected to achieve Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2 or GCSEs if you have already achieved a grade D in English and Maths.
