Advanced Apprenticeship in Laboratory Technician (Level 3)

This apprenticeship is designed for trainee Laboratory and Science Technicians who carry out laboratory testing and perform a variety of technical support functions to help Scientists and other Technicians. It will enable the individual to develop the knowledge and skills needed in this area of work. It is also suitable for Technicians in an educational role, for example, at a school or college. You will attend College one day a week. NVQ Diploma in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities Level 3: four mandatory units and further optional units relevant to your specific job role; BTEC Diploma in Applied Science Level 3: six mandatory units plus seven optional units; Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths and ICT; English and maths are an essential part of your studies and will help you succeed on your course. These subjects help you develop confidence and are key employability skills that recruiting employers look for. If you have not achieved GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths you will need to continue studying these subjects. We will ensure you have the right lessons and support to improve your English and maths.
