This qualification has been developed to meet the needs of experienced individuals working in a supporting role with children or young people in a school or similar setting. You will need to be working or volunteering in a school setting (for at least 10 hours per week for 34 weeks) Learning and assessment through group and 1:1 sessions You will need to have basic IT skills in order to complete your portfolio via an e-portfolio system You will need to be working at Level 2 Literacy in order to complete the written assessments for this course Progression: Individuals could progress onto specialist roles such as Supporting gifted and talented learners, Team leadership, Bilingual support, Invigilation and / or Special Educational Needs support. This qualification is often taken as a step into a teaching role
