The Professional Water Sports Instructor course will provide learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills and enable progression with the water sports industry.You will gain two, level 2 qualifications, Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Activity Leadership and BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Sailing and Water Sports. The course will also include three national governing body Instructor qualifications that are essential for employment within the water sports and outdoor adventure sector.On completion learners will have the necessary skills to successfully progress onto a Level 3 course or seek employment in the water sports industry.This is a one year course, delivered over 4 semesters. Topics will include the following:Practical Sailing SkillsInjury in SportPrepare for activity sessionsLead activity sessionsConclude and review activity sessionsSupport the work of the team and organisationPromote health, safety and welfare in active leisure and recreationSupport equality and diversity in active leisure and recreationSet up, take down and store activity equipmentCheck and service activity equipmentWork experience in the sports industry
