Apprenticeships are a popular choice for young people aged 16 - 24* looking for on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage. Most of your training will be directly linked to the career you have chosen, gaining practical experience both in the workplace and at college.An Apprenticeship in Food and Beverage Service will give you valuable knowledge and experience of working in the Hospitality industry. You will be working in a customer facing environment where your duties will include serving food and preparing beverages whilts maintaining a clean safe and hygienic working environment. Your exact duties will depend upon your employer. There may be the opportunity to develop new skills such as; silver service, guéridon service and serving wine at the table. This would take place in The Escoffier fine dinning restaurant at Bournemouth & Poole College. Where possible staff from College Apprenticeships Training will find you an employer and a place of work (although students who are already employed are welcome to apply if sponsored by their employer). Your offer of Apprenticeship training will be dependent upon work placements being available.Apprenticeships are a great option for school leavers who have an interest in food and want to progress in their chosen occupation.* Please note priority is given to applicants under 19 years of age. Due to funding arrangements, places maybe limited for 19-24 year olds.
