The BA (Hons) is a qualification for those who have normally achieved either a Foundation Degree or HND in a subject relating to children and young people, and who are now looking to complete a full degree programme at Level 6. The course can be used to enhance career opportunities in the children's sector, and is relevant to those professionals working in the 0.8 years age range in a variety of settings, including nurseries and schools. It will encourage you to explore and critique other perspectives and pedagogies. The course covers many interesting and relevant topics, such as: international perspectives on childhood and education, concepts of professionalism, and contemporary issues in childhood. Students will also develop their research skills through a specialist module delivered in semester 1 which will prepare them for their dissertation, a major independent research project based on a topic of the student's choice.
