The CIM describes the qualification as ideal for marketers who are concerned with managing the marketing process at an operational level, as well as those who are looking to build on the knowledge gained at Professional Certificate level with a future marketing management role in mind'. The content was developed following consultation with employers to make sure that relevant competencies are gained for various stages of marketing careers. The focus moves from the theoretical aspects of marketing to the many skills needed to manage the function itself, including elements such as channel management and communications, along with specialist areas like new product development. The course is aimed at those marketers responsible for managing the marketing process at an operational level. These include those moving into a mid.level marketing position and marketers who are looking to build on knowledge gained at certificate level. The course has four modules: . Unit 1 . Marketing planning process, . Unit 2 . Delivering customer value through marketing, . Unit 3 . Managing marketing, . Unit 4 . Project management in marketing. The CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing is ideal if you have operational responsibilities and an eye on management including: . marketing executives, . business development managers, . departmental managers, . product/brand managers, . marketing managers, . account managers. This is a distance learning course. There are no structured classes but the college provides: . four tutor.led day schools (one for each module) which are usually held on Saturdays, . access to a personal tutor for the programme, . regular email and phone contact, . two one.to.one tutorials of at least an hour for each module and one hour of feedback on draft assignment submission for each of the four modules.
